Anyone know about this "bumping" of deadbolts?

Question by vals.beach:

I found this online. One locksmith told me it was a ruse to sell Medeco locks.

More questions & answers:

  1. Where can I actually purchase good non-bumping locks for home?
  2. Where Can I find New Locks for my Cadillac? Please no Online SUggestions?
  3. Medeco deadbolt lock – is loose – what tool can tighten it ?
  4. I've lost ignition keys to an old dodge truck. What is the best route to go?

According to what I read. Lockbumping has been around for over 50 years. If someone wants to get in they are going to get in. Put more than one lock on your doors made by different manufactures with separate keys will make if more difficult to bump.
