research it and find out about new occupation.
look inside to see why you’d like to change
jobs or professions.
sounds good if you are interested .. and if you can’t keep a good job as locksmith you can use same skills as burglar
why would anyone aspire to be a locksmith? im sure thats just a job that people find themselves in as a last resort.
i think you should do one of two things…
a) go to truckdriving school and learn to drive 18 wheelers
b) become a stripper. i hear the pay is good
the more cheap locks are available, the less call there is for locksmiths.
however, you surely won’t have competition from China, when someone calls because they’ve locked themselves out of their house or car.
it’s my guess that it won’t be easy to get started.
it takes time to build a business, and it’s not like you’ll get lots of repeat customers.
in addition, in the 60s, i worked for Schlage Lock for 4 years.
and i really don’t like almost all of the locks i see for sale these days.
however, customers are probably almost completely unwilling to pay for better quality locks.
which means that there won’t be any available.
Schlage locks had the best keys and cylinders.
Arrow locks were exact copies of Schlage locks, such that you could mix pieces of 2 locks in a pile and assemble 2 locks w/o regard to which piece was supposed to go to which lock.
