Find a spare key, or call an insurance agency for advice! SORRY!

I have done this before and wirehangers are too flimsy, if you can find any type of wire that is less flimsy than a wirehanger it should work nicely. Otherwise, if you don’t want to pay too much go to your local car place and ask for a ’slim jim’ it’s a type of metal bar that’s specifically for opening locked car doors. No I’m not a theif, just a silly person who locks keys in cars.

No choice to call the locksmith, instead breaking the window. Sometimes accident or experience makes you grow.
Always keep your duplicate key.

If you had bought GM you could have OnStar unlock it for you…but If you dont have a spare, time to call the Locksmith. A locksmith will cost alot less than the torn door gasket from playing with the coat hanger.

Go to your nearest Toyota dealership with a valid current vehicle registration and a drivers license so that you can prove you own the vehicle. They can cut a key by obtaining the key code from your V.I.N. number. The key code was also provided on a silver tag on your keys when the vehicle was originally sold.

Well I’m going to assume you have power locks. First thing, find something you can use as a wedge. A screwdriver might work but you want to be careful to not tear your weather stripping for your door. Insert wedge into top corner of door and pull towards you. Careful not to pull too much as you can tweak door. You don’t need much, just enough for a hanger or whatever you can use to push the unlock button inside. You might need a second person for this. It may take a try or two but that is what I always do.

Wallah! She is open…

Call your Toyota dealer to find out how much it would cost for a key like dekerman1 mentioned.

Call a locksmith to see what it would cost for them to unlock it.

Do the cheapest, either one would work.
(I locked the keys in my Nissan Frontier a couple weeks ago, called a locksmith)

Listen to . DO NOT TRY THIS YOURSELF unless you don’t care if you ruin the door… new keys from the dealer are usually a ripoff so the locksmith is probably cheaper but call both and find out. But I absolutely recommend you do not try to pull a Macgyver… it costs a lot more to replace working parts of your car.
