Help! My trailer key padlock won’t unlock. I tried WD40 to no avail. Any ideas?
fifty asked:
Ten months have passed since I last locked my trailer. Now the lock won’t open with the key. It is one of those Buffalo locks that is a bit thicker and bigger than a regular medalist type lock.

I sprayed a ton of WD40 into every little crevass on that lock and after a half hour it still wouldn’t turn. It may be possible to get a small saw blade to cut through the lock but bolt cutters won’t fit. I can drive the trailer to a locksmith if anyone thinks a locksmith can get it off.
More questions & answers:
- how to cut a combination lock with bolt cutters?
- my key wont go right into the lock on my front door and it’s locked?

They sell saws or something like that at home depot to cut right through locks. Or maybe it’s cutters. Anyhow lol I know they sell something cause I had a friend who had a similar problem just like yours.
use key graphite it is a powder that lubricates metal u can buy it at home depot
cutoff wheel works great put on drill
Electric hacksaw or grinder will cut it off. Bolt cutters should work.
Options include but aren’t limited to:
hacksaw
torch it off
PB Blaster
Cutting wheel
Sawzall saw
I can’t see how a locksmith could help if you can’t get the key to turn, but I might be wrong (it happened once or twice before)
bolt cutters
