How can I make my wife happy after locking us out of our bedroom?

Well, you can’t really. Unless you have good stamina and a sturdy dining room table! Seriously though, call the locksmith and unlock the door. That’s the only answer. And get a lock with a key and keep the spare ANYWHERE but in the bedroom!

I need more details as to what is going on here.

Don’t they have doorknobs that can only be locked from inside? What about changing it to one that doesn’t lock at all, and just get a hook to lock it if you need to. Then your wife should not worry about you too much.

omg, there are a million ways to break in , go utside try and open the window from the outside, they are all faulty unless u have the brand new pella type windows.. second off, try taking the door off the hinges, possible the door knob off if you can, try taking the trim down off around the door and prying the doory jam open.. many ways . geez, ive done this 100 times.. best of luck.

Are the hinge pins on the outside of the door where you are? If so, just take the pins out and remove the door. Did you try to pick the lock with a toothpick or straightened out paperclip? You also might try popping the lock by swiping a credit card (one you aren’t going to need real soon in case it gets damanged) between the mechanism and the door jam. Can you jimmy the lock on the window from the outside and get in?

If you REALLY can’t get into the bedroom you better do some major gift giving tomorrow!!

Most inside locks have a safty in case you do accidently lock yourself out, look at the door knob, if there is a small hole in the center of it, stick something in the hole, perhaps a toothpick or a q-tip with the cotten off the end. It will hit a plate inside the doorknob, press on this and it will release the lock. Some other doorknobs have a small circle in the center with a groove cut in it, if you have this, take a coin and turn this circle using the groove until the door opens. Good luck, and if you can’t get the door open, make love to her on the kitchen table.
