Take them to the locksmith. I bet they'd cost more at the dealership.

Make sure you try the spare key out to make sure it works before you put the spare key away. You don't want to lose your original keys and then find out your spare was bad!

if it does not have transponder keys, anyone can copy them. the key maker will be able to tell you. if it does have a transponder key you will need an automotive locksmith capable of programing keys to the immobilizer or take it to the dealer.

Go to WalMart and have them cut you a new set of keys. If the key has the remote chip in it (the sensor one to prevent car theft), then you will have to go to the Nissan dealership and pay for a new one. They are usually around $100 for the special ones.

If your car has this (which I doubt due to the MY), the only thing a WalMart key will do is open the doors and the trunk in case of a lock-out, it will not start the car.

Your owners' manual will tell you what type of key your car requires.

Hope this helps. PS... congrats on the new car! Nissans are great!

any wall mart or auto suply can cut keys..... unless..... your key has a micro-chip in it, made as part of the anti-theft system, in that case you'll end up at the dealer
