I have AAA and that happened to me. I called them and they sent a locksmith that fixed it for me. He took the piece of key out and it was under my AAA.
You might try putting a dab of super-glue on the end of the broken key and then touching that end with a paper clip. That should give you something to pull the remnant of the key out.
I don’t see a thing in the question that says “Broken key” so where are those answers coming from?
If you are absolutely sure the key is in the “lock” position, and it won’t come out, there is something broken in the lock that is holding it in place. A locksmith won’t do you a bit of good, he can make a key for you, but as to removing a stuck key…well probably not.
Does it turn and start? If so, drive it to the nearest dealer and show them the problem. Maybe they have some simple and cheap answer, if not they will be equipped to replace it for you.
Wiggle the steering wheel while pulling gently on the key, sometimes the steering lock jams the key.
