run a hot wire from the batt to the coil.
jump the terminals on the starter to start.
the car is started. how you gonna steer?
call the locksmith.
if you have a front wheel drive, you can’t get to the starter to jump it unless you have a ford.
the steering wheel is still locked.
your best bet is calling the locksmith. without knowing the kind of car yous answer is impossible to give.
the best thing to do is to put a new ignition in it. Its cheaper the having a key made.
What year car, make model?
You’re not going to be able to hotwire it like in the movies. The newer cars were built with anti-theft features which prevents you from hotwiring cars.
You would have to break the steering lock for one and you would have a mess that would cost you more to fix in the long run.
If you find your original paperwork/owner’s manual, you should be able to find a key code. It’s a series of numbers and letters that you can take to the dealer and they can make you a key.
you can’t hotwire a car anymore as most switches make contact for numerous things when you turn the key over….
If it’s newer, try the dealer with proof of ownership… If older, you either have to pay the locksmith or drill and install a new key cylinder.
Or do the old standby… Craftsman screwdriver and a big hammer
