How long should it take an insurance company to issue a check for stolen car?
Carmen C asked:
The forensic locksmith said that the ignition was tampered with (they previusly had my claim under investigation to prove that the car was actually stolen). What is the hold up or when should I expect to hear something? It has been 29 days.

As long as it takes them to complete their investigation. 30 days is NOT a long time period.
You should f/u with your insurance company to find out approximately when they will issue payment for your vehicle. Usually they do need to conduct their investigation, and then run the fair market value of your vehicle. Appears that they did already investigate the loss, and it should only take a couple of days to run the evaluation. You should continue to follow up with them to make sure they are on top of your claim.
I’m not sure about a stolen vehicle comeback, but our truck was totaled when it was hit head on, and we’re still waiting for the insurance company to issue a check. This has been just over 2 years.
Good luck to you.
the adjusters have to do differnt things, it just depends on your insurance company, these things cant be dont overnight.
