if you break the window just have the window replaced but I will say this much just call a locksmith if you dont know what your doing and the retarded answer below is just that they didnt read the part about older el camino

Break the window and buy a new door from eBay (in good condition and your car’s color of course ) .But the new door must be more expensive than a locksmith , So I would look for a spare copy key or get a locksmith ……If you decide to break the window get a new door with key and pass code access .

Let this be a lesson to you , get your car keys copied . Or don’t leave some thing’s key inside of it while it’s locked .

On the older cars… simply pry the top of the door open enough to get a coat hanger past it. Straighten the coat hanger and leave a hook shape at one end. Use the hook to grab the latch.

get a slim jim or make one out of a piece of sheet metal or banding cut a small notch in the bottom angled down so its like a hook slide it between the weather strip and the glass on the back side of the door were the handle and lock is then [fish] around tell you hook the rod off the lock tumbler pull up and the lock pops open i tought myself how to do this for your same reason locked my keys in if you have ever had old chevy door apart youd see how easy it is saved lots of friends in high school with this trick just be patient and good luck
