I have lost my mondeo key which was a special red key I had made by a locksmith?

I have now found the original key. I think the locksmith did something to the imobiliser when he made the new red key. My real question is , is there anyway I can get the old key working again, because it opens the door but it doesnt start the engine..?????????????

You’ll likely have to go through a key re-learn process. Your owners manual may walk you through it.

It is possible that your ecu has been recoded to the new key you had made to make your existing key to work again you will have to have your ecu recoded to this key
