I have a 1998 convertable ford mustang and have just locked my only set of keys in it. I do not know much about cars but i need to know if theres any way I can unlock it. I cannot afford a locksmith in my town they are very expensive and the police wont help. Since it is an automatic lock system the wire hanger trick wont work…anyone please help!!!

Locksmith is about as cheap as it’s going to get. The only other route is to bust out the smallest window in the car and replace it later.
If you’re looking for advanced car theft/lock picking advice & techniques, you may want to try another board.
do you have AAA? or see if a friend does? with normal AAA a person can only use it 3 times a year to get their keys out of their car , but with AAA Plus it’s unlimited. See if a friend is feeling nice and will let you use one of their “turns” to get your keys out of your car. (Your friend will need to know the make and model of your car, location, and other details so you might want to be with your friend when they call).

did you lock the trunk? try to get through the back. I know 2003 mustangs trunks automaticly. Find out what cost more a window or a locksmith? Are you part of AAA?
I would say since it’s a convertible, you should be able to pull back some of the weatherstrip and get a yardstick or something long/flat to press the button.
if the top is down, obviously you will not ask this question. assuming that the key is in the car and there’s not way to get it. Grab the glass and pull it out a little bit. Use a stick and hit the lock/unlock at the door. e-mail me if you have any questions.
get a hanger put it in and hit the eletric lock on the door
Call a towing company they can do whats called a lock-out service and open your car for 35 dollars. It takes about 30 second to open one of them. But I can’t tell you how to do it on here.
