is there a lock on the key? cause then you would need to use another key or something to push it in to turn it all the way off, and then get it out with tweezers.
my car you have to push the key in to turn it to any of the on positions(1,2,3) from 0.

JOE I saw your question after your locksmith came.

Remove the plastic cover from the bottom of the steering collum. There should be just two screws.

On the left side of the steering column, (opsite from the key) you will see a small arm and a small cable or rod. (like a coat hanger)

This is the “Park” position “Lock out Lever” ; even if its in park the “Lever” is not pushing the switch lever far enough to let the key out.

When you have the cover off the steering column, wiggle the shift Lever till you see how it works. Then with that small rod or cable in the right position, you should be able to remove the key.

If not, (the key pins could be damaged after all the pulling)
wiggle the key up and down to loosen the pins. With some pliers try to move the key. If its still stuck, Hit on the top of the steering wheel to make the steering claim vibrate…this will help vibrate the Pins in the Lock to the right position.

I usually use a rubber hammer…..to vibrate the column to remove keys.

When you see how it works….you will see how easy all this really is.

I worked at a car auction, and on auction days….we do this 10 to 30 times a day…..usually works. Out of 650 cars daily the drivers we hire usually get keys stuck just like yours.

If you call a car thief….instead of a “Lock thief” (He knows whats wrong with your lock…he just wants the business)
He would have Your Key out in 3.2 seconds!!!!!!!

Its a fun trick…when you get your key out….you can help others in just a few minutes…..instead of hours.

Its not brain surgery, Joe….what you got to loose!

Puting in a new lock is a real pain, dude….you probably do not need to replace the lock…….just Adjust the “Park Control Lever” till it clears the lock so the Key, can be removed.

Good luck!
