I’m at work and I locked my keys in my 2006 toyota corolla. What is the best way to get them out?

Curt F asked:

I’ve heard that the dealer will make a spare set if I bring them the VIN – is this right? otherwise the best solution would be to get a locksmith, correct?

Thanks

Call AAA…

a dealer will cut you a key for your vehicle but you will have to bring in the vin and identification and some type of proof of ownership, registration, or car insurance card. other than that if you are a AAA member they might be able to cut you a key. if you know anyone that has access to a lockout kit like a volunteer fireman they should be able to use that.

AAA will take care of it if you’re a member.

A locksmith can take care of it in about 2 minutes. First, they pop your window out of it’s track, the window slides down and then they reach in and open the door. Then they put the window back on it’s track and they’re done – costs about $40.

A Toyota dealer can make you a spare – you’ll need to give them your VIN #.

A policeman can do it too – just like the locksmith.
