Keyless Remote for Dodge NEON 2000 HELP?

Question by rainbowsandhell:

I have a Dodge Neon 2000, my keyless remote batteries died.. I purchased 2 CR2016s, 2 CR2025s, and 2 CR2032s. I don’t know which ones go in there because there wasn’t any in there before (long story) but If i place 1 2016 and 1 2025 it will lock the doors ,and unlock the trunk but CAN’T unlock the car!! I’m locked outside my car and would rather NOT call a locksmith! I do not have another set of regular keys.. My only key is stuck in the ignition (again long story).
So is the remote just bad or am I using the wrong set of batteries?
Please help!

I don’t know specifically about Neon, but sometimes when the batteries get replaced there is a resetting/learning process using the key in the lock and pressing the remote at same time. If it opens the trunk then the batteries are ok.

WARNING I have a friend who had the key stuck in the ignition and the car was eventually stolen! She never got it back.

key fobs do not have to be programmed after battery replacement. you have a bad key fob. you are going to have to call a towing service that will slim jim it or call a locksmith.

to unlock the dorrs with a diamler chrysler vehicle it take more battery power then unlocking your trunk but this happend on our 2002 dodge caravan so yea i would recomend on getting new batteries plus it happend on our new pt crusier it would open trunk open the door but the battery wasnt powerful enough to cutt the car on by remote yae jut replace your batteries

Go to the dealer with proof of ownership and get a new key to open the door, should be cheap without the chip. It will set the alarm off but with the key inside you can turn the alarm off. DO NOT try to start the car with the new key as it may create more problems.
