Keys are on the inside of the lock (Yale) how can I get in?
Alexandria asked:
I locked the door accidentally this morning, leaving my key on the inside of the lock (it is a Yale lock). I have a spare key, but have been told that it will not work (because the key is in the lock on the otherside.) I really need to get into my house tonight, and a locksmith is not an option because I have no money on my person. What can I do?

Will the community police be able to help at all?
The house does not belong to me personally (relatives,) so I do not feel comfortable with just breaking a window. However I do need to get inside. Will the police mind me asking them for something as trivial as this?

Most police officers can open locked doors, so they are a good bet, but it’s not garunteed. And you should probably just try the spare key anyway. If it doesn’t work, you’re no worse off than before, right?
WHERE DO YOU LIVE..I WILL GO TRY IT MYSELF WHILE YOUR AT WORK..LOL IF YA HEAR SOMEONE SINGING IN THE TUB…IM IN!! dONT FORGET YA RUBBER DUCKY!
If you can’t afford a locksmith, you can alway break a window and get in that way. Unless it’s an apartment with no window access, then you’re pretty much SOL and will have to call the locksmith.
In my city, the police won’t get you into your house and tell you to call a locksmith.
Use your spare key. It doesn’t matter if there is a key in the indoors side of the lock.
