Locksmithing Career?

I’m looking into becoming a locksmith, but I cannot figure out what they earn a year. Most of what I found comes from European sites and whatnot. Can anyone answer this question not pertaining to Europe?

Well, you would be a “small business” and what is called an…:independent contractor”.
Most factory reps, ( that’s what I was, here in the states), are independent contractors.
You would keep every receipt you got for business expenditures, a very careful mileage report using the actual odometer mileage not your trip indicator. You will have this on your daily log which you buy at an office supply store.
\You get paid directly and will have to file quarterly reports with the IRS (not a law but highly recommended) and pay estimates on FICA and guesstimated tax liability.
At tax time you will have your accountant use any 1099’s you have on a Schedule C IRS form.
This has traditionally been a good business but of late, auto makers are going digital and have GPS services, on some cars, that will unlock the car when necessary.
You’ll be installing various locks, doing repairs in areas not involving autos and this is probably the long term business.
Good luck.
