most tow truck drivers have a gas cap lock pick or check with you local parts store or repair shop

Drill out the lock cylinder with a good-sized highspeed steel bit. Certainly easier than trying to ‘lever off’ a locked cap.

Get a good screwdriver put in keyway and give it a good hit with a hammer then turn, your in

As a locksmith, I do have special picks for that job, not to mention skill and knowledge. If you drill [ danger of hot cuttings, sparks and gasoline vapours ], or break the gas cap, all of the debris will end up in your tank. Try to locate the ” filler neck “, from beneath or by removing interior panels. It is usually connected to the tank by a short piece of neoprene hose, and hose clamps. Remove the top section of the plumbing from the vehicle, and on the work bench, destructively remove the locked gas cap from it. Be as gentle as possible, so as not to damage the securing notches on the top of the neck.
