Oh dear, what can the matter be? 1993 saturn?

Question by maria791967:

I borrowed my sisterinlaws 1993 Saturn, my car is in the shop. When I went to close the window, it did not want to close, so I said I will give it a couple of hours, it is an old car, so I waited, then I went and closed the window and it closed, great. But when I went to take the key out of the emmission , it would not budge. The key is stuck and I tried wd40, apparently Saturns have these problems, still nothing. Went to Napa and he said call a locksmith or tow it to them. Can anyone give me some ideas on what is going on.

Is the key turned all the way off? Try moving the Transmission gear selector while wiggling the key. Also, is there a button under the steering wheel to push to remove the key?

something could have got in stuck on the key and know it wont budge

Arcangel has the right idea…

Sit and check to see for any button on the steering column, this button may need to be pressed to remove the key…

make sure the transmission lever is completely in park, or try moving it to neutral and then run up into “park”

You can also try moving the steering wheel left and right as you try removing the key…

if No luck, I’d say call you sister and tell her the trouble, it’s not your fault.

best wishes!
