I don’t know at what level your trying to complete this, but I would use the equation:
28x + 40 = 236
This simplifies to get x equal to 7, which would be your answer.
Seven locks can be replaced for $236.
His charges for installing the locks is:
$236 – $40
= $196.
Number of locks installed for $196 at $28 per lock is:
$196/$28
= 7 locks.
Hope I`ve helped. Twiggy.
