You dont necessarily have to go to the dealer. Usually independent shops are just as knowledgeable and have the means for repairing anything. Your door is a simple problem so I would not go to a dealer. They overcharge! Ask people you know and find a shop you trust. Check with local Chambers of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau is a great resource to see if shops have any complaints against them. It's all about trust and alot of mechanics and dealerships are hard to trust. I've seen alot of people that have gotten ripped off.

FYI Most of my family are mechanics. My Dad and uncle own a HUGE shop in Wisconsin and I've spent plenty of time there and with customers. They have been there almost 60 years now so I know alot about dealerships and independent shops!

Climb over the back seat and look with a flashlight Some times the cargo net or debris gets into the latch pry cut it and pull it out with needle nose pliers if necessary. Dealer independant garage or lock smith if the latch is clear.

The dealer will rake you over the coal's hard, just have a local shop do it. I don't know why everyone thinks the dealer is some sort of "savior", I would ONLY use them if the car was under warranty, other than that, they rip you off. The worst mechanics in the world work at the dealership, any mechanic that is worth ANYTHING, can usually get a "Higher" wage at a local shop. My friend own's a shop, he had a guy that was a "Boarder line" mechanics helper, he went to a dealership that made him a "B- mechanic" instantly……..All this guy's work, alway's came back, he dropped a car off a lift 6' off the ground, and it hit a wall.

Any body shop can slimjim the door open – and will pop the interior cover off and fix the problem .

It is not a long job you probably have a broken clip or a bent rod in there.

No big deal really, usually under 50.00 to fix, and under 1 hour.

A body shop. They're experts at that kind of thing.
