Where do you go to get a key copied?

Question by Lesha:

Besides a locksmith and specialty places who else makes copies of keys? I know Lows and Home depot but is there anyplace else?

More questions & answers:

  1. i broke the key to my ‘89 ford festiva?
  2. Transponder key cut?
  3. Where can I actually purchase good non-bumping locks for home?
  4. What are my rights?
  5. Nail Salon lost my keys, are they liable?

Any neighborhood hardware store. Just look up ‘Hardware’ in the yellow pages to find one close to you. I think you can also go on Yahoo maps and ask it for hardware stores nearby.

walmart does it back by automotive. and they have different keys like blue ones and rainbows, pretty much anything. which is a great way (especially if your making the key for a child) to remember what key goes to what.

Stay away from Wal-Mart the keys are aluminum the break easy. You want to go with Ilco or startec those are the best after market keys made.
