Why is locksmith so funny with Mrs. Lovett suggests it?

Sweeney Todd is a Sondheim musical about murdering people and putting them in meat pies. In A Little Priest Mrs. Lovett is suggesting various professions and ends with locksmith in one bridge and either she laughs, Sweeney laughs or the audience does in various versions. I never got it.

Chastity belts. Locksmith was a good profession if you wanted to have sex.
Stevenson got it right – it’s all about chastity belts. Back in the days when the crusades were ever so trendy (poor souls – what were they thinking?) – the knights and other men of certain wealth, left their poor wives with these heavy annoying chastity belts. These horrible belts is a satanic invention. Just to show that there’s absolutely no line between being good and evil…
